Do you need a California ABC license, a local approval, or both?

A California ABC license and local land-use approval are separate questions. Depending on the premises and proposed operation, a project may need state licensing, local zoning verification or discretionary approval, and other business or premises permits. Confirm each path with the responsible agency.
